1. Controller

The controller within the meaning of the GDPR for data processing on this website is:

Wolfgang Collmann
Osterende 20
26849 Filsum
Germany

E-mail: Wolfgang.Collmann@T-Online.de

2. General information on data processing

We take the protection of your personal data very seriously. This privacy policy informs you about which personal data is collected when using WomoPilot, for what purpose this is done and what rights you have.

The legal basis for data processing is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest in providing a functional service) and — insofar as you actively enter data — Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR (performance of a contract).

3. Access data / server logs

When you access this website, information transmitted by your browser is automatically stored in server log files. These are:

  • IP address of the requesting computer
  • Date and time of access
  • Name and URL of the file accessed
  • Amount of data transferred
  • Browser type and version
  • Operating system

This data is used exclusively to ensure the technical operation of the website and is not merged with other data. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. The logs are deleted after 7 days at the latest.

4. User input (route planning, search)

When you use the route planning or search function, the place names entered are transmitted to external services for processing (Nominatim, OSRM — see section 7). This input is not permanently stored by WomoPilot.

When you use the AI assistant for route planning, your text input (travel wishes) is transmitted to the API of Anthropic (Claude) and processed there. Please do not enter any sensitive personal data into the AI assistant.

Voice input: You can also dictate your travel wish for the AI assistant. To do this, the recording is transmitted to our server and converted to text locally there (Whisper speech recognition on our own server). The audio recording is not stored and not passed on to third parties — only the recognised text then appears in your input field and is treated like text input only once you submit the planning (see above). Microphone access takes place exclusively after your confirmation via the record button.

4a. Photo uploads (site photos)

You can upload your own photos of sites. Uploaded images are transmitted to the API of Anthropic (Claude) for automated content checking (site relevance, identifiable people or vehicle number plates). Images on which people or number plates are identifiable are automatically rejected and not stored.

Approved photos are stored on our server and displayed publicly in the app and on the website. During processing, embedded metadata (e.g. EXIF data including the GPS position of the photo) is removed. Rejected images are not stored.

To protect against misuse, a randomly generated, anonymous device identifier is transmitted during upload and stored with the photo (limiting uploads per device and day). This identifier does not allow any conclusions to be drawn about you personally. By uploading, you confirm that you took the photo yourself and grant us a simple right of use for display. Each photo can be reported by users and is automatically hidden after several reports. You can request deletion at any time informally by e-mail (see section 8).

4b. Vehicle profile (weight, height, width, length)

You can optionally store a vehicle profile with the dimensions of your vehicle. This profile is stored exclusively locally on your device (in the browser or in the app settings) and is not assigned to any user account.

For a route calculation with an active profile, the vehicle dimensions are transmitted together with the route coordinates to our server and forwarded there for calculation to the external services openrouteservice (profile routing) and Overpass API (restriction notices) — see section 7. Transmission to these services takes place via our server; your IP address is not transmitted to the services. Neither the vehicle profile nor the request is permanently stored on our server.

4c. Reviews and comments

You can rate sites with 1–5 stars and optionally comment — without a user account. For assignment, the same randomly generated, anonymous device identifier as for photo uploads is used (see section 4a): one review is possible per device and site, which you can change or delete directly on the device at any time. The identifier does not allow any conclusions to be drawn about you personally. The optional nickname is displayed publicly next to the review — do not use your real name there if you want to remain anonymous.

Comments are automatically checked before publication (insults, advertising, personal data of third parties). For this purpose, the comment text including the nickname is transmitted to the API of Anthropic (Claude) — see section 7. Rejected comments are not published. Each review can be reported by other users and is automatically hidden after several reports. You can also request deletion informally by e-mail (see section 8).

4d. Usage log (anonymous route statistics)

For statistical analysis of usage and to improve the service, we store an anonymous log entry for each calculated route. We store only: the time of calculation, the origin (app or web), the name of the start and destination, the number of waypoints, the route distance and travel time, whether a vehicle profile was used, and, where applicable, the app version.

No IP address, no device identifier and no exact coordinates are stored, nor any data that would allow conclusions to be drawn about you or an individual user. The entries cannot be linked to one another. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest in anonymous usage statistics).

5. Cookies and session data

WomoPilot uses technically necessary session cookies to maintain the Blazor Server connection. These cookies are absolutely necessary for the operation of the application and are deleted when the browser is closed. No tracking cookies or cookies for advertising purposes are used.

Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (technically necessary).

6. Fonts

This website uses the fonts Nunito and Inter. These fonts are stored locally on our server and are not loaded from Google servers or other external sources. Therefore, no data is transferred to Google or third parties.

6a. Google Maps (external link)

WomoPilot offers the option of opening a planned route in Google Maps with one click. When you click "Open in Google Maps", you are redirected to Google Maps. The route coordinates or place names are transmitted to Google as part of the URL. This transmission takes place exclusively through your active action (click) — WomoPilot itself does not send any data to Google.

The privacy policy of Google LLC applies to the processing of the data by Google.

7. External services and data disclosure

Nominatim (OpenStreetMap Foundation)

When searching for places and planning routes, search queries (place names) and individual route coordinates (e.g. for country detection for the fuel price estimate) are transmitted to the Nominatim service of the OpenStreetMap Foundation. There is no permanent storage by Nominatim. Privacy: OSMF Privacy Policy.

OSRM (Open Source Routing Machine)

For route calculation, start, destination and intermediate coordinates are transmitted to the public OSRM demonstration server. Your IP address is transmitted to the server.

Anthropic Claude (AI functions)

For AI functions, data is transmitted to the API of Anthropic PBC (548 Market St, PMB 90375, San Francisco, CA 94104, USA): your text input in the AI route assistant, the content of publicly accessible operator websites (automatic site analysis), site photos uploaded by users (automated image checking, see section 4a) and review comments including the nickname (automated text checking, see section 4c). If you use the 'from my location' option in the AI assistant and allow location access, a coarse place name (e.g. 'Hamburg') is additionally transmitted to Anthropic as start context — no exact coordinates. Anthropic processes this data in accordance with its terms of use. Please do not transmit any sensitive personal data. As Anthropic is based in the USA (a third country), the transfer takes place on the basis of the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses pursuant to Art. 46 GDPR (data processing agreement with Anthropic). Privacy: https://www.anthropic.com/privacy.

openrouteservice (HeiGIT gGmbH)

If you have stored a vehicle profile, the route is calculated via the openrouteservice service of HeiGIT gGmbH (Heidelberg, Germany). The route coordinates and your vehicle dimensions are transmitted — the request is made via our server, your IP address is not transmitted to the service. Privacy: HeiGIT Privacy Policy.

Overpass API (OpenStreetMap)

For the restriction notices (weight/height/width), the supply search along the route (waste disposal stations, water points, LPG filling stations) and for importing site data, map queries are sent to the Overpass API. The course of your calculated route is transmitted — the request is made via our server, your IP address is not transmitted to the service.

Tankerkönig (fuel prices)

For the travel cost estimate, current fuel prices at points along your route are queried from the Tankerkönig service (creativecommons.tankerkoenig.de, data basis: the Market Transparency Unit for fuels of the German Federal Cartel Office). The query is made via our server; your IP address is not transmitted to the service.

Open-Meteo (weather forecast)

For the weather display at the stage destinations of a route and on site detail pages, the respective coordinates are transmitted to the weather service Open-Meteo (open-meteo.com). The query is made via our server; your IP address is not transmitted to the service.

OpenStreetMap map material (Leaflet / OSM tile server)

The map tiles are loaded from the OpenStreetMap tile server. Your IP address and the requested map area are transmitted to the servers of the OpenStreetMap Foundation. Privacy: OSMF Privacy Policy.
